About EVTM
EVTM, Endovascular Resuscitation and Trauma Management, is a multidisciplinary concept for the early and aggressive management of the bleeding patient, combining endovascular and open surgical techniques. No ego, just good science, care and collaboration.
The managing group
EVTM is developed and coordinated by the EVTM group at Örebro University Hospital, Sweden, with regional sections in the Pan-American region, Italy and Israel.
Background
Modern trauma care follows the AABCDE approach, and the management of bleeding is increasingly hybrid, combining open surgery with endovascular tools. REBOA (Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta) and its variants, partial and timed occlusion (pREBOA/TREBOA), intermittent REBOA (iREBOA) and flow-controlled REBOA (fREBOA, tREBOA), are central to this development.
A global, multidisciplinary community
The EVTM concept connects trauma and vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, emergency physicians, anaesthesiologists, intensivists, nurses and pre-hospital teams. Its workshop and symposium network has included activity across Europe, Israel, Brazil, Japan and the United States.
Teaching archive
The Academy brings together symposium recordings, expert interviews and procedure videos. Top Stent and the curated clinical case library remain part of the educational record.
